Who Is The Balanced Foodie?
Hello everyone! My name is Katy and for those of you who are just joining me, WELCOME!
I started over at my other site, These Beautiful Feet. Even though there is a new name and new website the blog is the same, just growing and getting better!

I have a passion for finding ways everyday to lead a healthier, happier and more active life and it definitely takes balance! Especially since I LOVE food! Hence the name..The Balanced Foodie!

I LOVE to run! It’s a newer love of mine and I have worked really hard to gain mileage. I have my good days with running, and the days I need to work a little harder at enjoying the fight! I wouldn’t trade the difficult runs for anything because that’s when I truly grow and learn the most. My newer life goal is to qualify for the Boston marathon before I am thirty!
My husband and I got married in May of last year and are adjusting to married life!
I just graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education but my life has taken a different course and I plan on pursuing something different..we’ll see what the future holds!
I was mostly a baker until I got married. I LOVE baking. I think because it is so methodical, you follow precise measurements or it won’t turn out right. I love getting focused into a recipe, it’s therapeutic to me. But now I love to bake AND cook! Plus, I can’t bake too much. Someone has to eat the fruits of that labor!
I lived in Italy for five weeks, and have been a total of three times. I think that has a lot to do with my love of food!
I do eat meat, but like everything else I try to eat it in moderation. I think it’s important to try different styles of eating and find what gives you energy and makes you feel good. I have had bad eating habits including eating A TON of sweets, drinking sodas, and relying too much on fast food. Now I make healthier choices and take small steps that are leading to big changes. I am the healthiest I have ever been and Ive never felt so good about myself. I’m so excited to continue growing in my knowledge of nutrition and health!
I am still finding that healthy balance, but I have found that I not only feel better physically, but mentally I feel stronger and proud that I make better decisions. It’s a great feeling and gives me such a drive to show people that you can make better decisions easily everyday that aren’t sacrificing, but satisfying!
I believe health involves every aspect of yourself. Your work, food, fitness, relationships and spirituality all come together to make you who you are and give you the strength and calm you need to feel your best and to feel centered. I love God, my husband, great food and running and I’m excited to see where life takes me!
I hope you all join me as I daily try to balance health, wellness, and delicious food!
Katy

I was curious if your blog title was from the scripture “how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news?” Good stuff!
